About

La Placita is a new public space built for community arts, cultural events and the weekly Mission Community Market.

Developed with the City of San Francisco, La Placita was inspired by the Mission Community Market (MCM), a non-profit market comprised of farmers, local food entrepreneurs, and artisans. MCM was founded by community members and a partnership of non-profits in 2010. MCM is now operated by Foodwise, for more information on the market, visit their website here

The farmers market takes place every Thursday, rain or shine, from 3pm to 7pm (March-November), on 22nd Street between Mission and Valencia Streets in the Mission District of San Francisco.

The founding members of MCM are now known as “La Placita.” Their objective is the ongoing stewardship of La Placita, neighborhood streets and cultural events that celebrate the diversity and joy that define the overall Mission District.
