The Polo Field Cycling Track is the oldest cycling track in the United States, dating back to 1905, and the largest of the great historic oval tracks remaining in the world. The intention of the track is to provides a unique and traffic-free space for cyclists of all abilities to ride safely.

The Friends of the Polo Field Cycling Track is a grassroots community group working to improve safety and conditions at the historic Polo Field Cycling Track in Golden Gate Park. The group’s mission is to maintain, restore and improve the nation’s oldest cycling track.

Current goals include the redesign of the interior fence, better signage and wayfinding, and improvements to the pavement. Programming goals for the group include the introduction of youth instructional and competitive cycling.
