Palega Recreation Center

Palega Recreation Center is located in the Portola neighborhood (500 Felton Street).

The five-acre recreation complex includes a building that houses a gymnasium, three multipurpose rooms, kitchen, staff offices, storage, and restrooms, and outdoor facilities including a playground, basketball and tennis courts, soccer field, and baseball field.

The 1940's-era Palega Rec Center will reopen in August 2013 following a $21.2 million renovation that includes a 3,000 square foot addition to the recreation building and reconfiguration of the building's interior to expand program space, universal-access upgrades and seismic strengthening in line with current building codes, and enlargement of the playground.

The needs list for the center totals just over $100,000 -  for desks, tables, chairs, tiny tots equipment, sports equipment, fitness equipment, audio-visual equipment, and kitchen appliances.
