On the second Saturday of every month the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department enhances the butterfly habitat on Strawberry Hill. Come out to remove invasive weeds, and put in the native plant species that Swallowtails and other butterflies need to thrive! In addition to enhancing habitat, volunteers will learn about the natural and cultural history of Strawberry Hill. It promises to be an inspiring and fun day in a gorgeous setting!
Meet at the Stow Lake Boat House and get started at 10:00 AM sharp. To RSVP please email email@example.com or call 415-831-6333 by the Wednesday prior to the workday. (We need to know how many volunteers will participate so we’ll bring enough supplies and tools for everyone.) All instruction and needed tools are provided. Please wear closed toe shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, and dress in layers as the weather may change quickly. You may want to bring a bottle of water to keep with you while you work. If you’re sensitive to sun, don’t forget your sun block lotion and hat. Further information can be found here.
