September 2014 e-news: Party for the Parks

Party for the Parks is almost here! Have you purchased a ticket yet? For the 9th straight year, this fun and festive event will bring together park lovers in a unique park setting to sip cocktails, dine and dance, all while supporting our parks!  On Saturday, September 13 starting at 6 p.m., the Randall Museum in Corona Heights Park will be the site of the fun, with the theme "Wild in the City."

July 2014 e-news: Better budget passed! Now planning ahead

Success! The Board of Supervisors has passed the City budget for next fiscal year, and Parks Alliance advocacy has paid off to win a cleaner, safer, greener budget. Up next: the Recreation and Open Space (ROSE) element of the General Plan goes to the Board of Supervisors on July 8. SFPA announces Action Grants, Volunteer of the Year awards

San Francisco Parks Alliance announced the recipients of its second annual SFPA Action Grants awards, totaling $29,000. The grants stimulate park beautification and volunteerism in parks and open spaces across San Francisco.  SFPA awarded eight parks organizations with grants in amounts of up to $3,000, and named the 2014 Volunteer of the Year, who will receive $5,000 to benefit their organization.

June 2014 e-news: Support the Clean, Safe and Green Budget!

In this month's e-newsletter, learn about Supervisor Scott Wiener's proposal to increase funding for tree care, park patrol and cleaning our public plazas. The Supervisor is proposing to spend an additional $3.6 million in the 2014-15 City budget to invest in these activities. May 2014 e-news: You be the grantmaker!

Action Grants make SF a little greener . . . in more ways than one! 2014 is the second year of our Action Grants program making direct gifts to seedling park projects that need a little love (and green) to flourish! Last year, we presented $25,000 to 10 worthy projects and one Volunteer of the Year. This year, we've expanded the program and will be giving out eight grants of up to $3,000 and an additional $5,000 to a Volunteer of the Year.

Action Grants 2014 applications are out!

The Parks Alliance is pleased to announce that applications for the second annual round of Action Grant funding are now available!  Action Grants encourage park beautification and volunteerism by providing up to $3,000 per project in funding for park projects.
